Six carbon protons

Eight branes a-bumping
Nine telescopes tracking
Ten neutrinos speeding
Eleven strings vibrating
Twelve theorists thinking
But how can you tell carbon protons from other protons? And while I'm here aren't there 6 flavours of quark? Sorry - I'll get my coat.
